In the last 10 years Sonepat has developed by many folds. 10 years ago Sonepat was nowhere on the map of Delhi-NCR development, in fact NCR itself was just a starting phenomenon for the people. The Sonepat back then used to be a simple agricultural town with no major real estate development going on in Sonepat. The prices used to increase at a very negligible pace providing almost no profit for investors. Many main roads in the city either didn’t exist or were in very bad condition. Basic facilities like water supply and sewage disposal were not available in many colonies back then. The population was also comparatively lower. People used to migrate to Delhi in search of jobs and higher education. Many colonies were in very bad condition.
Then in 2003-04 a kind of revolution took place in Sonepat starting from the Kundli area. Real estate companies started acquiring land from the farmers to start developing their projects in Kundli and soon many real estate companies were developing their projects in Sonepat city itself. The real estate companies that started their projects earliest in Sonepat were TDI, Ansal API and Tulip. After these companies many more companies came to Sonepat and it became a hot spot for real estate development. Almost everywhere in Sonepat a real estate boom was going on. The living standard rose higher than before many retail chains and branded showrooms were opening all around Sonepat. Many new roads were developed and the conditions of roads changed remarkably. Even the colonies started getting many basic facilities and the real estate market started seeing exponentially upwards graph. The Sonepat today is much more livable and modern city then it was 10 years ago. And soon it will be an ultramodern metro city of Delhi –NCR.
